Aleron, the soldier. Main character of my story Progeny (working title). Warning: Long Winded Backstory Ahead.
Aphimanos was a legendary soldier/general who united the warring clans of Aphikaros and led it to prosperity as its new king. His wife Celestreia brought Aphimanos' first son and heir into this flourishing kindgom. Aleron.
For three years Aleron was raised as any would expect. He was trained in the arts of combat and cunning, but the compassion and love of his parents ensured he was a wise and lighthearted boy. But when giving birth to her second child, Celestreia suffered severe complications and died. Aleron and his new brother Caton were left motherless.
Aphimanos continued to raise the two boys for another nine years. The brothers were inseperable as children but on Aleron's twelth birthday they would be unjustly torn apart. During the celebration the castle was stormed by militants, remnants and descendants of the clans Aphimanos defeated so long ago. The King is slaughtered, but before his sons can be killed they are whisked away by his trusted aides. Caton reaches his safehouse, but Aleron does not. They are chased by the dissidents for weeks until, far from Aphikaros' borders, they are finally caught. The aide is killed but Aleron is tortured until he loses conciousness.
When he awakens he is in the Orphanage, an enormous self-sustained academy that cares exclusively for those without parents. He is taught, trained and raised there for another six years before he sets out on his own. After a long time wandering, he arrives at an isolated, snow covered garrison. And there he remains until his twenty third year, when news reaches him of his brother.
Caton has assumed the throne of Aphikaros, and now leads his people in a war of conquest. His motives are unclear, but his tactics are flawless. Several neighbouring nations quickly fall to his might. Aleron cannot discern the nature of the war, but he realises: he must see his brother. He must end his exile, return to Aphikaros and if need be, reclaim his birthright.

Phew! Well, there you have it. Sorry about the lengthy description, but I had to get that out for myself as much as anyone. Thats the story behind the Soldier. The picture didn't really take that long for me to colour as I thought, but before I posted it I had to hammer out the story and come up with some names. But I got there.
His armor design is something of a combination of different styles - European and Japanese mainly. I tried to give Aleron himself a travelled appearance, someone whos seen a lot. Still working on his personality but I think thats something I'll try to reveal through the course of the comic, as well as many events I left out of the backstory. But enough from me!
